From The Severn Bridge to the River Usk.

Mike Parker takes us over the second Severn crossing and on to Caerleon which has Britain's best preserved Roman Amphitheatre capable of entertaining a full legion of around 6000 troops. From the Amphitheatre we go to the Forum, or 'Y Ffwrwm', where Dr Russell Rees, using sculpture, has been making the myths of Wales accessible to all for the last 30 years.

Next up is roundabout-fixated Cwmbran which has one of Wales' largest block of flats, 22 stories wrapped around a chimney that was designed to heat the shopping centre.

The stone circle built to commemorate the 1958 eisteddfod at Ebbw Vale is Mike's next stop (since 2005 they use plastic 'stones') then it's on through the villages of Cwm and over the mountain to Llangynidr.

Here on a beautiful autumnal day Mike goes swimming with fellow wild-water swimming aficionado Joseph Murphy.
